Job summary

WMG is seeking a software-focused team member who can code enough to build and debug, while thinking clearly about problems, processes and priorities. You will manage intake for bugs and requests, collaborate with operations and finance, and translate needs into concrete specifications.

You will work with Claude Code and mainstream web tech (Python, PHP, TypeScript) and use Git, command line, and SQL to deliver practical improvements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in computer science, IT, engineering or related field, or equivalent self-taught ability.
• Up to 3 years of work experience; internships and personal projects count.
• Basic programming in Python or PHP, plus enough SQL to query a database.
• Comfort with Git and the command line, or willingness to learn them in your first month.
• Hands-on use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar) on something you built.
• Structured thinking: break a messy problem into steps and explain the trade-offs.
• Effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with counterparts in China.
• Exposure to operations, logistics, eCommerce or finance processes would be an added advantage.
• Any web framework, PostgreSQL, Supabase or Vercel

Responsibilities

• Listen and triage: create a single intake channel for bugs, changes and ideas; reproduce issues and maintain a prioritised backlog.
• Understand the process by working with operations, finance and customer teams to map steps and identify where software helps or hinders.
• Decide and specify: weigh effort against impact and write clear specs and acceptance criteria.
• Build with AI agents: implement changes using Claude Code, mainly in Python, PHP, and TypeScript; test against acceptance criteria.
• Release and support: deploy via GitHub, Vercel and Supabase with a defined review process and monitor post-release.
• Document: keep guides, process notes and changelogs up to date.
• Report: send a weekly summary of shipped work, open items, and decisions needed.
