Job summary

HF Apparel is seeking a Product Development Assistant to drive the full sample development lifecycle from concept to final product. You will manage timelines with manufacturers, translate design and fitting notes, and ensure sizing and construction accuracy across styles.

You will also support product presentation, campaign materials, and trend research, while coordinating with RFID tagging and occasional overseas factory visits to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) to liaise with manufacturers.
• 1–2 years' experience in apparel/e-commerce.
• Diploma or degree in fashion/apparel or design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow through sample development from design to final product.
• Coordinate with manufacturers on timelines and delivery schedules.
• Translate design and fitting comments accurately with manufacturers.
• Conduct fit sessions to ensure sizing and construction accuracy.
• Take and verify product measurements to maintain sizing standards.
• Liaise with manufacturers on sampling, revisions, and production requirements.
• Coordinate with RFID vendors for tagging during production.
• Support overseas trips for factory visits or shoots as needed.
• Assist in photoshoots styling and campaign-related product listings.
• Research trends and fabrics to inform development.
• Carry out ad-hoc duties to support product/creative teams.

Responsibilities:

Product Development & Sampling

• Follow through the full sample development process from initial design concepts to samples and finalised products
• Manage sample development timelines and delivery schedules with manufacturers to ensure timely completion
• Coordinate daily communication with manufacturers, including translating design and fitting comments accurately
• Conduct and organise fit sessions, ensuring fit, construction, and measurement consistency across styles
• Take and verify accurate product measurements to maintain sizing standards
• Liaise closely with manufacturers on sampling, revisions, and production requirements
• Follow up with manufacturers when necessary, including outside of regular working hours, to meet critical timelines
• Coordinate with RFID vendors to ensure prompt and accurate tagging directly from manufacturers
• Participate in overseas trips (e.g. China factory visits and shoots) when required to support product development and quality control

Product Presentation & Campaign Support

• Assist in photoshoot styling to ensure products are accurately and attractively represented
• Support campaign-related activities involving the showcasing of final products
• Create and prepare product listings with accurate descriptions, measurements and details

Research & Trend Development

• Research current market trends, fabrics, and designs to support new product development
• Contribute design and development insights to improve product quality and commercial appeal

General

• Carry out ad-hoc duties as required to support the product and creative teams

Requirements:

• Proficient in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken), as the role requires liaison with manufacturers
• 1-2 years of experience in the apparel industry and e-commerce
• Diploma/Degree in fashion apparel or design-related field is preferred
