Job summary

KLA in Singapore seeks a hardware-focused professional to support continuous improvement of the current product line, contribute to sub-system design and integration, and collaborate with suppliers on NPI programs.

You will troubleshoot, test, and help meet business objectives, with travel on short notice. A BS in technical engineering with 7–9 years of experience is required. KLA offers a competitive total rewards package and an inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement on the current product line through design improvements and processes.
• Work on sub-system design and analysis for current and new product lines.
• System and sub-system integration, troubleshooting and testing.
• Support early involvement with suppliers in technology and NPI programs, balancing technical and business needs.
• Assist in achieving business objectives like cost reductions and product improvements.
• Coordinate supplier training and development for wafer inspection and metrology products.

Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next‑generation devices to volume production quickly and cost‑effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Surfscan group includes a team of engineers, technology development, apps engineers and product marketing focused on technology that enables wafer, IC and equipment manufacturers to develop, qualify and monitor their process tools. Defects and process non‑uniformities detected on Surfscan equipment allow for early identification of yield excursions. The flagship Surfscan products include the SPx platforms for wafer surface quality and wafer defect inspection tools and systems for inspection of polished wafers, epi wafers and engineered substrates during the wafer fabrication process.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support continuous in improvement on current product line through design improvements and processes.
• Work on sub‑system design and analysis for both current and new product line.
• System and sub‑system integration, troubleshooting and test.
• Support and lead the early involvement with suppliers in technology and NPI programs, managing the sometimes conflicting technical and business challenges.
• Support achievement of all business objectives, including technology and product requirements, cost reductions, product improvements, and problem resolutions.
• Responsible for supplier training and development for wafer inspection and metrology products.

Qualifications

• Experience in hardware engineering or product development, as well as experience in manufacturing operations.
• Require a technical understanding of wafer inspection and metrology products.
• Position requires solid technical, business, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of product life cycle, ECO, and SAP systems are highly desirable.
• Able to travel for on short notice.

Minimum Qualifications

• Position requires a minimum of a BS Degree in a technical engineering field or related, with 7-9 years’ experience.
