Qualifications

• Passionate about product design with ownership mindset.
• Basic understanding of software development processes and technologies.
• Experience with Figma, Jira, Confluence is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support product design across the lifecycle from discovery to iteration.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and stakeholders across Alta products.
• Participate in user research and usability testing to inform decisions.
• Translate complex workflows into intuitive design solutions using Figma.
• Contribute to and maintain Alta's design system for consistency.
• Oversee smaller initiatives from ideation to execution with senior PMs.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of features.
• Maintain clear stakeholder communication and gather feedback.

About The Role

We're seeking a challenge-driven Product Design Intern to enhance user experience across our client-facing and internal products. The designer will work closely with other product design and product management members to craft and implement top-tier digital experiences for our internal products and investor platform.

To address the fragmented, barrier-laden nature of private markets, we're creating an ecosystem that effortlessly connects investors, issuers, and partners, guiding each group through their journeys with minimal friction. Our internal platform is crucial in streamlining workflows and processes while linking our core products.

As a Product Design Intern at Alta, you'll jumpstart your product design career from day one. You'll have a driven, entrepreneurial team backing you as you shape our products' direction. Some Of The Key Responsibilities Include

• Support product design efforts across the entire lifecycle, from problem discovery, research, wireframing, prototyping, to handoff and iteration.
• Work closely with internal and external clients, including product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, across the various product suites offered by Alta Group to transform business and technical requirements into intuitive user experiences.
• Participate in user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and continuously improve the product based on real user feedback.
• Translate complex workflows and data into clear design solutions, using tools like Figma and design systems effectively.
• Contribute to and help maintain our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across products.
• Oversee smaller product initiatives from ideation through execution, ensuring alignment with overall product goals and timelines in collaboration with senior product managers.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and QA, to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality product features.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on product progress and gathering feedback to refine features.
• Continuously improve product design skills through mentorship, training, and hands-on experience.

About You

• Passionate about product design, with a proactive approach and a willingness to take ownership of deliverables
• Basic understanding of software development processes and technologies;
• Good experience with tools like Figma, Jira, Confluence, and product analytics platforms is a plus.
• Strong interest in user experience and interface design, design systems and a commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to various stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems creatively and effectively.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with a strong team-oriented mindset.

Some nice-to-haves

• A general understanding of venture financing and investments, especially in the private capital market and/or alternative assets space.
• Ability to work with basic financial terms and data to improve product feature
• You love getting your hands dirty and sweating the details! You want to work in a small, diverse team that is passionate about building great software.
• Working experience in both startups and/or corporate environments (we’re a bit of both!)
