Job summary

Wise seeks a Regulatory Product Compliance Senior Manager to join APAC and support the Assets product with regulatory alignment in Singapore. You will work with product teams in Singapore and London to ensure compliant offerings while expanding across APAC.

This hands-on role requires deep regulatory knowledge, the ability to translate requirements into practical solutions, and collaboration with Risk, Compliance, and Product teams to mitigate regulatory risk.

Qualifications

• Min 7 years of relevant experience in a compliance role within retail investments, broker-dealer or capital markets.
• Deep working knowledge of securities regulations (Singapore or Australia) and evolving regulatory expectations.
• Ability to translate regulatory needs into compliant product designs and actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Support assets product compliance in Singapore by interpreting regulatory requirements and shaping compliant product developments.
• Identify regulatory risks, gaps and forthcoming regulations; propose and execute mitigating actions.
• Collaborate with product teams to build compliant new products/features and perform regulatory analysis.
• Represent Wise in external meetings and provide input on regulatory matters with a customer-focused approach.

We’re looking for a Regulatory Product Compliance Senior Manager to join our growing Product Compliance team to support the Assets Product Compliance team in APAC. This role is hands‑on, a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission, grow as a product and compliance manager, and help save millions more people money.

Your Mission:

In 2022, Wise launched the Assets product in Singapore, a new type of account. In 2024, the Assets product was launched in Australia. Assets allows customers to invest the money they hold with Wise in different asset classes such as stocks or bonds while retaining the instant access and spend functionality of a checking account.

Your mission is to work with our product teams based both in Singapore and London to improve our Assets offering in Singapore in a compliant manner through a deep understanding of the regulatory requirements and regulators’ expectations around investment products. You will also support the product teams on expanding the Assets offering in new APAC markets.

This is a first line Product Compliance role, embedded in the Product team.

You, together with the global and APAC product team, will be responsible for:

Regulatory risk and remediation:

• By demonstrating a deep understanding of the Wise Assets product and local regulatory requirements you support Product and operational teams on how to interpret regulatory requirements, improve processes and our product to avoid regulatory breaches and/or incidents;
• In collaboration with Risk and Compliance second line and the product team, identify and align on the main regulatory risks, gaps and forthcoming regulations. Present this in a very clear and understandable way to the wider teams, and work with them on defining the solutions and execution of mitigating actions

Product design:

• Deeply understand regulatory needs, translate this into solutions and work together with the Product Teams to build compliant new products/features and services in a customer oriented way;
• Perform regulatory analysis of new products/features and services, and implement required controls prior to launch.
• Identify opportunities to improve our product proposition / competitiveness by thoroughly analysing relevant regulations and challenging existing interpretations and market practice

Third Party Relationships:

• Represent Wise in external meetings and being able to clearly and effectively articulate the Wise Assets Product;
• Provide input on regulatory related matters, always representing Wise customer-oriented culture while ensuring compliance.

• Min 7 years of relevant experience in a compliance role within the retail investments, broker-dealer, or capital markets industry;
• Deep working knowledge of securities regulations in Singapore OR Australia e.g. MAS’ Securities and Futures Act (“SFA”) OR Australia Corporations Act;
• Familiar with the evolving regulatory expectations of the MAS or ASIC / APRA with regards to Capital Market firms and ideally even Payment Services / Electronic Money firms;

Other skill-set:

• Ability to prioritise effectively and call-out what are the key areas of improvement and implementation required from a regulatory point of view;
• Ability to effectively communicate with Product Managers and Engineers and provide practical, actionable, and value added recommendations;
• Problem solving attitude, with the ability to use regulation together with data to drive business decisions;
• A natural owner, that drives and delivers project from inception to completion, timely and with attention to the details;
• Willingness to travel, as the Assets team is mainly located in London; and
• Legally authorised to work in Singapore
