Position Summary
SHEIN is seeking a senior product compliance specialist responsible for managing product compliance concerns in the APAC (ex-Mainland China) region. The role involves working closely with global product compliance functions, including activities such as enabling market access, reporting compliance trends, managing first-party product investigations and recalls, and auditing product compliance on the SHEIN website.
Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive product compliance standards as part of the legal team.
- Develop, communicate, and implement product compliance policies and procedures effectively with business partners.
- Identify and address gaps in the product compliance program.
- Collaborate with the product safety and quality control teams within the supply chain and direct business partners to minimize product risks.
- Provide product compliance standards and regulatory information in English and Mandarin.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure product compliance in the APAC region.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in science, law, engineering, or related fields, with at least 10 years of relevant experience in consumer product compliance, including safety, regulations research, standards interpretation, guidance, enforcement actions, technical writing, and product recalls. Additional experience may be required for unrelated educational backgrounds.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturers, retail, third-party platforms, government authorities, industry associations, and standards committees, especially for markets such as Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Australia.
- Proficiency in research databases and online resources.
- Ability to interpret regulations and standards, quickly assess new information, and develop strategic responses.
- Experience with product recalls across multiple countries is preferred.
- Strong program and project management skills.
