Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Product Applications Specialist to support the Materials and Structural Analysis division in the APAC region, focusing on NanoPort software and imaging workflows for Semiconductor, Life Sciences, and Materials domains.

You will train customers, deliver proofs of concept, and collaborate with sales teams to demonstrate software value across academic, commercial, and government accounts. Travel up to 50% across APAC is expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent plus two or more years as a pre-sales engineer
• Experience with imaging in Semiconductor technologies is a plus
• Strong knowledge of image processing or ML applications relevant to software solutions

Responsibilities

• Provide application engineering support and explain the features and benefits of Thermo Scientific software solutions
• Prepare and provide product presentations and trainings to customers
• Prepare and deliver proofs of concept meeting customer requirements and resolve technical issues during the sales cycle
• Work with technical support to resolve customer issues
• Contribute to internal initiatives on technical collaboration and data sharing
• Review documentation and QA of new products/releases before presenting to customers
• Prepare technical materials and presentations

The Product Applications Specialist will support our Materials and Structural Analysis Division and be part of the VDS Data-to-Results (D2R) Strategic Unit.

The Materials and Structural Analysis Electron Microscopy (EM) business enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries, increase efficiency, and ultimately change the world. The EM business designs, manufactures, and supports the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.

The VDS unit provides analytical digital solutions to accelerate innovation and efficiency across research and industrial laboratories. This includes advanced visualization and analysis SW for understanding 2D-5D bioimaging sample and materials structures and properties; 3D visualization and image analysis toolkit and collaborative imaging data management platform for traceability of image-based scientific experiments.

How you will make an impact:

We are looking for a Product Applications Specialist to join our team. A professional that can contribute new insights, build and present solutions to our customers in various fields within academic, commercial and government accounts.

As a Product Applications Specialist, you will build and maintain the relationship with other organizations primarily in Semiconductor, Materials Research and Life Sciences domains. You as a candidate will be primarily responsible for supporting the sales team and our NanoPort, in charge of the software business.

What you will do:

• Provide application engineering support and explain the features and benefits of Thermo Scientific software solutions
• Prepare and provide product presentations and trainings to customers
• Prepare and deliver proofs of concept which meet customer business requirements and resolve any technical issue which may arise during the sales cycle
• Work with technical support to resolve customer issues
• Actively contribute and participate in internal initiatives regarding technical collaboration, data sharing and content production
• Review documentation and participate in QA of new products and new releases before they are proposed to customers
• Participate in preparing the content of the technical materials and presentations

Expected travel : 50% in APAC region primarily covering Singapore, South-East Asia and ANZ.

How you will get here:

• Master's degree or equivalent plus two or more years as a pre-sales engineer
• Image Processing and/or Machine Learning application-level knowledge is required
• Experience or knowledge in imaging in Semiconductor technologies preferred, (Life Sciences and/or Materials Sciences )
• Experience with commercial or open-source software (Avizo, Amira, VG Studio Max, Simpleware Scan IP, Arivis, Bitplane Imaris, ORS DragonFly, ImageJ/Fiji),
• Programming and scripting experience (C++, Python, .NET, Java, MATLAB) will be preferred
• Knowledge in one or more engineering or research field as listed in position description of imaging technology, such as FIB/SEM, TEM microscopy, 3D micro-Tomography, confocal microscopy would be a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to translate complex technical content to domain experts.
• Organized and focused. Knows how to prioritize.
• Experience in technical business development with commercial organizations is a plus.
