Are you a meticulous professional with a strong background in healthcare procurement and project management? My client is one of the leading hospitals in Singapore, seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Specialist to join the dynamic team.
This role is at the heart of our procurement process, focusing on the critical initial stages of Request for Proposal (RFP) development. You will leverage your expertise to meticulously review, vet, and refine technical specifications for a wide range of medical supplies and equipment. Your precision will be paramount in ensuring that all specifications are robust, comprehensive, and accurately reflect our hospital's needs and compliance standards.

Your new role

• Specification Drafting and Vetting: Lead the detailed review and critical evaluation of technical specifications for medical devices, equipment, and related services, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with clinical requirements and industry standards.
• Procurement Process Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of procurement best practices and processes to guide the development of RFPs, ensuring clarity, fairness, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Project Management: Manage the specification development phase of procurement projects, coordinating with internal stakeholders (clinical departments, engineering, finance) to gather requirements and integrate feedback effectively.
• Quality Assurance: Act as a critical gatekeeper for specification quality, identifying potential ambiguities, discrepancies, or omissions that could impact procurement outcomes or equipment performance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster strong collaborative relationships with clinical staff, department heads, and external vendors to ensure specifications meet operational needs and are technically sound.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of internal processes for specification development and procurement, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

What you'll need to succeed

• Demonstrated experience in creating, reviewing, and refining detailed technical specifications, ideally within a healthcare or highly regulated industry.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and effectively coordinate cross-functional teams.
• In-depth understanding of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including RFP development, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and compliance.
• Candidates with direct experience in a hospital's Medical Materials Department (MMD) or similar procurement roles within a healthcare setting are strongly encouraged to apply.
• A meticulous and analytical approach to tasks, with a strong ability to identify and resolve complex issues within technical documentation.
