Overseeing all the purchasing processes involved in direct and indirect procurement such as technical/engineering services, plants and equipment, spares, and materials needed for efficient manufacturing operations and processes.
Strategizing with various stakeholders to plan and manage current needs as well as future requirements.
Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, spares, and repair and maintenance services.
Reviewing, comparing, analysing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
Sourcing and evaluating goods and services to determine which best meet the organization’s needs.
Negotiating and securing supply contracts with the best pricing, payment terms, and delivery options.
Preparing purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers.
Liaising with the Finance department and vendors to resolve discrepancies such as price, quality, delivery, or payment issues, if any.
Managing good supplier relations, which include researching and enhancing supply chain resilience.
Evaluating supplier performance (sustainability, quality, reliability, delivery lead time, value) and developing and managing long-term ethical relationships with the supply chain.
Requirements:
At least a diploma or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management/engineering and trained and honed with specialized skills in sourcing and negotiation.
Analytical, financially & numerically astute with strong proven problem identification and solution abilities.
Good verbal & written communication abilities, interpersonal and influencing skills.
Able to work independently, multi-task, and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in establishing e-procurement in an organization is preferred.
