A leading company in Singapore is seeking a Procurement Engineer to manage supplier relationships and sourcing strategies. The role involves negotiating contracts, performing cost analyses, and ensuring timely deliveries. Ideal candidates will have an engineering degree and experience in sourcing, particularly in the electronics field. Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
Responsibilities
Work closely with requestors to establish a well-defined scope for effective and efficient sourcing.
Source from qualified and reliable sources to meet requirements and specifications.
Develop new and existing suppliers and recommend alternative components to add value in the early design and testing phases (prototype).
Confidently engage with suppliers and negotiate the best deals for the company.
Perform supply chain cost analysis and implement cost-efficient and effective purchasing strategies.
Establish pricing for tenders and support production activities.
Be well-versed in contractual T&C and establish contracts with key suppliers.
Interpret within established procedures (including regulatory requirements) and practices.
Work closely with the planner to implement engineering changes, ensuring on-time deliveries of parts with the right quality and at the right time, including support for warranty claims.
Manage Purchase Requisitions/Purchase Orders and purchase forecasts to suppliers, including rescheduling to meet demand changes.
Exercise good vendor management and monitor supplier performance to meet objectives in quality, inventory control, and actively engage suppliers regarding quality and production feedback (supplier evaluation and development).
Requirements
Degree in any Engineering field with relevant years of experience.
Candidates with an engineering diploma and experience in sourcing & negotiating (experience in Electronics/Electrical sourcing is a plus).
Team player who enjoys working in a team environment and can communicate effectively at all levels/positions.
Open-minded, independent, self-motivated, result-oriented, with the ability to work under pressure and willing to work beyond normal duties.
Knowledge of ERP (SAP) and a keen interest in automotive platforms is advantageous.
