Procurement Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities across the Building Materials Group (BMG), ensuring timely sourcing of materials and services at optimal costs. You will also support project teams by coordinating vendor agreements, interpreting contract terms, and ensuring procurement aligns with project timelines and deliverables.

What you'll be doing

1. Develop, implement, and oversee the procurement strategy to align with company objectives.
2. Plan, organize, and control the purchasing activities for the group.
3. Establish and maintain an efficient and reliable purchasing system.
4. Conduct regular reviews of procurement needs and ensure timely fulfilment of requirements.
5. Analyse market trends, supplier offerings, and industry developments to optimize sourcing decisions.
6. Prepare and evaluate tender documents, analyse bids, and negotiate contracts.
7. Recommend and approve supplier contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality standards.
8. Authorize purchase orders and approve payments in compliance with financial controls.
9. Manage the disposal of assets in accordance with company policies and regulations.
10. Ensure procurement processes adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
11. Lead and supervise the procurement team to drive efficiency and operational excellence.
12. Optimize cost-saving initiatives while ensuring high-quality purchases.
13. Provide recommendations on contract awards and establish favourable contract terms.
14. Oversee tender evaluations and procurement analysis to support strategic decision-making.

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
2. Minimum 10 years of procurement experience with proven track records, ideally in a project or industrial setting such as precast & ready mixed.
3. Competent with tender processes and contract review.
4. Good communication and vendor management skills.
5. Attention to detail with the ability to support project documentation and timelines.
6. A proactive, collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
7. Knowledge and utilization of BCA index.

Nice to Have:

1. Exposure to contract variations, claims, or project cost tracking.
2. Experience supporting procurement for construction, infrastructure, or manufacturing projects.
