Job summary

A leading company in the food and beverage industry is looking for a Procurement Officer to execute the end-to-end procurement processes. This role requires managing supplier evaluations, contract negotiations, and import/export logistics while liaising with Chinese-speaking suppliers. You will also handle inventory management and maintain accurate procurement records. The ideal candidate holds a diploma in Supply Chain Management and has at least 2-3 years of experience in the procurement field.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation, to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
  • Coordinate import/export logistics for specialty ingredients, ensuring compliance with Singapore’s customs and food safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory levels, forecast demand, and optimize stock to meet operational needs while minimizing excess.
  • Conduct occasional in-city procurement trips to source high-quality food ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
  • Input invoices and purchase orders into Chinese-language procurement systems with accuracy.
  • Communicate with suppliers to verify payment statements and reconcile accounts, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and operations teams to align procurement with menu and operational requirements.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or above in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of procurement experience, with at least 1 year in import/export trade within the food and beverage or related industry.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Chinese (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and English to liaise with Chinese-speaking suppliers, operate Chinese procurement systems, and handle internal communications.
  • Experience in entering invoices or purchase orders into Chinese-language systems and reconciling payment statements with suppliers.
  • Ability to conduct occasional in-city procurement trips.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with procurement software is a plus.
