Job summary

Amazon Asia-Pacific Resources Private Limited (Singapore) is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to create and implement sourcing strategies for complex Professional Services categories across APAC. You will collaborate with internal partners and suppliers to reduce risks and costs while delivering value to our customers.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, supplier performance measurement, and regional procurement process development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, contract management, or operations experience.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, and process improvement.
  • Strong collaboration with internal partners and suppliers; ability to manage multiple initiatives.

  • Manage complex consultancy categories in the Professional Services space within the CAPEX domain across APJC.
  • Achieve cost savings through bidding, negotiations and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop regional procurement category strategies that deliver value to the business.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge about supply markets and supplier capabilities to the business.
  • Lead supplier reviews, scorecards, and governance meetings to improve performance.

Job description

As a Procurement Category Manager, you will create and implement sourcing strategies for at least 2 complex categories in the Professional Services space and collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risks and costs for Amazon while delivering value to our customers. You will develop mechanisms and metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery. Additionally, you will drive results through methods that include go to market strategies, competitive bidding, negotiating, and analyzing data and market trends for your category. You will also create regional/global Procurement processes and tools to drive innovation across teams.

Key job responsibilities

A day in the life
  • Manage complex consultancy categories in the Professional Services space within the CAPEX domain across APJC
  • Achieve cost savings through bidding, negotiations and strategic initiatives
  • Understand customer requirements and analyze category data to establish and implement robust regional procurement category strategies that deliver value to the business
  • Understand trends in customers’ needs and concerns across categories and regions to influence customers’ priorities
  • Provide in-depth knowledge about the supply market and supplier capabilities, technically and geographically, to the business.
  • Develop mechanisms and metrics to track supplier performance related to delivery, quality, and cost
  • Create supplier scorecards to measure and track supplier performance
  • Lead business reviews to discuss best practices and issues and to ultimately improve supplier performance and strengthen business partnerships
  • Innovate within the procurement space, automating and/or improving tools or processes to better support the Procurement Lifecycle
  • Provide support throughout the contracting process, as well as management of contracts post-execution

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration or operations experience
  • 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration or operations

Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of program, project, product management, or leading a product implementation process experience
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies
