About the role
As a Procurement and Shipping Executive at Ten-League Group, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement and logistics functions for our organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Manage end-to-end procurement, including sourcing, tenders, and vendor negotiations.
- Negotiating favourable contract terms and pricing with suppliers to ensure the best value for the business.
- Placing purchase orders and tracking deliveries to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Conduct spending analysis and drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Handle contract and vendor relationship management, including supplier risk monitoring.
- Monitor and co-ordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and shipping lines on deliveries of cargoes.
- Handling of Import and Export LC documentation.
- LC preparation and negotiation.
- Monitor and track shipments, providing updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing list and certificates of origin etc.
- Identify opportunities to optimize shipping processes, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to streamline procurement and shipping workflows.
- Investigate and resolve any shipping-related issues or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including shipping manifests, delivery records, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, laws, and company policies.
- Implement procurement best practices to optimize cost and efficiency.
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a procurement or logistics role, preferably within the construction machinery industry.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise effectively with suppliers, internal, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team.
- Hands-on experience in L/C.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, import/export processes, and international shipping procedures (preferred).
- Proficient in using procurement and inventory management software.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
