Job summary

Applied Materials South East Asia is seeking an on-site role based in Singapore to provide high-visibility customer support for advanced semiconductor equipment. You will work at the customer's site daily with ~20% travel, collaborating with teams to develop leading-edge processes and perform DOE analyses.

The ideal candidate has 4–7 years in semiconductor processes (preferably CMP), strong communication skills, and the ability to interact with customers onsite and at the worksite.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers.
  • Must be able to work daily at the customer's site/cleanroom.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-visibility customer support through on-site installations, system diagnostics, and service/repair of complex equipment.
  • Collaborate with customers to develop leading-edge processes for semiconductor fabrication.
  • Design of experiments and data analysis with reports on technical processes.
  • Troubleshoot problems, perform root-cause analyses, and resolve issues.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and customers to achieve goals.

Based at the customer’s site daily (North). Travel: 20% of the time. Relocation eligible: Yes.

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑visibility customer support through on‑site installations, system diagnoses, and the service and repair of complex systems and equipment.
  • Work closely with the customer to develop leading‑edge processes used to manufacture the most advanced semiconductor chips.
  • Create hypothesis experiments and design of experiments (DOE); analyze data with statistics; compile reports with high‑level conclusions on technically challenging process engineering experiments.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems; perform root‑cause analyses; and resolve difficult process engineering and customer product issues.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and the customer to achieve goals and build relationships based on trust.
  • Apply growing knowledge of best practices to offer fresh perspectives using existing solutions.
  • Serve as a resource for junior colleagues and liaison between the customer and business unit; may also lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, materials engineering, electrical engineering, optoelectronics or related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in semiconductor process, preferably in CMP process.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to explain sensitive information and build consensus among project stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work closely with customer at the customer's site/cleanroom daily.
