Job description

Job Title: Process and Mechanical Engineer Lead

Our Client is a water solutions company. As a key process engineer, you will lead end-to-end design and execution, from developing smart, efficient solutions for awarded projects to troubleshooting operational systems for continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  1. Understand project and client contractual requirements and scope of work
  2. Clarify scope and deliverables to establish the contract basis with the client
  3. Support the Project Management Team with updates on process deliverables and schedules
  4. Prepare key process philosophies including control, startup, and shutdown philosophies
  5. Develop comprehensive engineering documents such as:
    1. Process Flow Diagrams (PFD)
    2. Utility Flow Diagrams (UFD)
    3. Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
    4. Heat and Mass Balances (H&M)
    5. Cause and Effect Diagrams
    6. Safe Charts and Material Handling considerations
  6. Perform equipment and line sizing calculations (pumps, filters, separators, vessels, storage tanks, etc.), and hydraulic analysis
  7. Prepare and review technical queries (TQs); liaise with clients to resolve and close out TQs
  8. Conduct process studies and investigations specific to water treatment systems
  9. Prepare detailed engineering reports such as:
    1. Process System Design Reports
    2. Vent and Drain Reports
    3. Utility Summaries
  10. Create process datasheets for mechanical equipment and instrumentation
  11. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to provide accurate process inputs
  12. Perform interdisciplinary checks and contribute to deliverables including MEL, electrical load lists, weight reports, datasheets, and technical philosophies
  13. Review vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements; provide technical feedback
  14. Coordinate with third-party specialists on process and safety studies, including report reviews and workshop participation
  15. Provide input to and prepare sections of operating manuals, pre-commissioning, and commissioning manuals

Requirements & Preferences

(Must)
- Degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering or an Environmental-related field
- 8 years of process management and mechanical engineering in the wastewater/water treatment industry
- At least 2 years of leading and managing a team within the same industry
- Experience in the design of complex skid-based industrial water treatment systems
- Comfortable with traveling for business needs

(Advantageous)
- Experience in FEED, EPC Engineering and Packages, preferably in Water, FPSO and Oil & Gas Industry
- Experience in Oil and Gas or the Offshore industry is a highly advantageous
