Job summary

A leading company in marine engineering is seeking a Mechanical Technician. This position requires leading a team in the maintenance and repair of vessels, ensuring quality work and safety compliance, with a supportive work environment in a shipyard. Candidates should be hands-on, able to work under pressure, and proficient in mechanical tools. Singapore Citizens are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using IMTE Tools such as Torque Wrench, Pressure gauges.
  • Willingness to work in shipyard environments under various conditions.

  • Lead a team of Technicians for vessel maintenance and repair.
  • Perform troubleshooting and rectification of mechanical defects.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed during maintenance work.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to Mechancial Department Head in all matters
  • Supporting Engineers and Senior Engineers in day to day operation
  • Supervise and ensure safety of vessel maintenance and repair works.
  • Leading a team of Technician to perform repair and maintenance onboard ships
  • Carry out troubleshooting and rectification of mechanical/diesel defects.
  • Perform joint inspection and acceptance with ship representative
  • Hands on work in rectification of defects and maintenance of mechanical components
  • Ensure quality of work performed by ownself and technician deployed
  • Assist in logistic support, lifting of equipment and workshop equipments etc

Requirements:

  • Diploma or NTC in Mechanical / Marine Engineering
  • Able to use IMTE Tools such as Torque Wrench, Pressure gauges, Internal and External Micrometer
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to work in a team
  • Able to perform hands on work
  • Able to work in shipyard environment – heat, grease, dust
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Only Singapore Citizens will be considered for this role
