Job summary

BeathChapman Pte Ltd invites applications for a Principal Solution Architect to set the architectural direction for software at scale across cloud, private cloud and on-prem environments. This senior, organisation-wide role shapes standards, platforms and engineering culture, acting as the architectural authority for multi-year roadmaps and high-complexity initiatives.

You will mentor architects, build reusable patterns, and lead R&D on emerging tech, translating ideas into practical platforms

Qualifications

• 12+ years across solution architecture, software engineering and technology leadership.
• Experience designing and delivering complex, large-scale systems with modern software architectures.
• Strong skills in architecture principles, governance, and driving engineering maturity at an organisational level.

Responsibilities

• Translate business priorities into multi-year technology roadmaps and reference architectures.
• Define organisation-wide architecture principles and blueprints across cloud, private cloud and on-prem.
• Act as senior design authority for complex systems including APIs, microservices, data flows and platform services.
• Establish engineering standards, governance and secure SDLC practices to raise quality without slowing delivery.
• Build reusable frameworks, developer platforms and CI/CD templates to accelerate delivery.
• Mentor architects and engineers to grow the organisation's engineering maturity.
• Lead R&D and PoCs on emerging tech and translate learnings into practical patterns.
• Advise senior leadership on architecture investments and technology risk.

An established, well-resourced organisation is investing significantly in its technology and engineering capability, and is looking for a Principal Solution Architect to set the architectural direction for how it builds software at scale.

This is a senior, organisation-wide role for an architect who wants to shape not just individual solutions, but the standards, platforms and engineering culture behind them. You'll be the senior architectural authority across strategic, high-complexity initiatives spanning cloud, private cloud and on-premises environments - and you'll play a central part in growing and maturing a strong in-house engineering team.

What you'll do

• Translate business and executive priorities into multi-year technology and architecture roadmaps.
• Define organisation-wide architecture principles, reference architectures and blueprints across cloud, private cloud and on-prem.
• Act as the senior design authority for complex systems - application architecture, microservices, APIs, integration, data flows and platform services - optimising for scalability, resilience, performance, security and maintainability.
• Establish engineering standards and governance (architecture and design reviews, code quality, secure SDLC) that raise the bar without slowing delivery.
• Build reusable frameworks, component libraries, CI/CD templates, IaC patterns and internal developer platforms that accelerate delivery across teams.
• Mentor architects and senior engineers, and help grow the organisation's engineering maturity and capability.
• Lead technology R&D and proof-of-concepts on emerging tech, translating what works into practical patterns and platforms.
• Advise senior leadership on architecture, engineering investment and technology risk.

What you'll bring

• 12+ years across solution architecture, software engineering and technology leadership.
• A strong track record designing and delivering complex, large-scale or mission-critical systems.
• Deep, hands-on understanding of modern software architecture - cloud-native, microservices, APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience defining architecture principles, engineering standards and technology governance at an organisational level.
• Strong grounding in Agile, DevSecOps and CI/CD, and experience across public cloud, private cloud and/or on-premises environments.
• Experience building reusable frameworks, shared services, developer platforms or engineering accelerators.
• Solid security architecture and secure software engineering practices.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers/architects and raising engineering maturity.
• Strong stakeholder management, able to engage and influence senior business and technology leaders.
• Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related - or equivalent professional experience.
