Job description

We are representing our client in the global technology and engineering sector to look for an experienced Principal Solution Architect. This role is responsible for initiatives related to company-level definition and standardization of Architecture standards, technologies, and practices as well as Engineering standards and practices. The Principal Solution Architect oversees the application of technology, standards, and practices in R&D as well as in delivery projects. You will work with the CTO, TO Architects/Leads, and project development teams to drive standardization and efficiency of technology and practices.

Responsibilities
  1. Standards and Practices
  • Develop Architecture standards, technologies, and practices aligned with the company’s technology vision and business strategy.
  • Monitor trends in technology related to Architecture standards, technologies, and practices for potential incorporation to maximize value add.
  • Adopt modern development methodologies and frameworks (including Agile) when developing Architecture standards and practices.
  • Adopt modern development frameworks (including Agile) when developing Engineering standards and practices.
  • Work with other TO Architects and Leads to define and incorporate practices into DevOps or other workflows to ensure compliance with preferred standards.
  • Engineering and Delivery
    • Assist the CTO in reviewing defined practices and their implementation, including DevOps tools, workflows, data, and metrics (efficiency).
    • Identify metrics for monitoring efficiency and responsiveness in collaboration with TO Architects and Leads.
    • Contribute directly to development projects related to Architecture and Practices.
    • Participate in pre-sales activities related to system and software solutions.
    • Support IT Infrastructure management for development and testing environments, including resource planning and architecture review.
    • Identify R&D initiatives with the CTO to explore and implement cutting-edge technologies.
    • Work with the CTO and CPO to implement R&D projects.
    • Experiment with and evaluate new ideas, tools, and partners.
    • Monitor and summarize the application and outcomes of practices through data/metrics analysis.
    • Collaborate with other TO Architects and Leads on technology trends.
    • Engage with customer leads to align Architecture standards with customer needs and stakeholder interests.
    • Work with the CTO to identify standards and regulatory requirements, incorporating security considerations into architecture and practices.
    • Define and manage the technical competency roadmap, monitoring personal development.
    Requirements
    • Extensive experience in developing solution architectures for secure, mission-critical IT systems.
    • Strong experience with cloud-based architectures, technologies, and services (public or private).
    • Deep understanding of modern engineering processes and practices (Agile, DevOps) for secure, mission-critical systems.
    • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI, cloud services, and DevOps tools.
    • Familiarity with customer/government standards and security threats.
    • Experience with solution aspects including performance, security, and latency.
    • Knowledge of blueprint design, development, and enterprise architecture metrics.
    • Understanding of enterprise architecture best practices and resource management.
    • Strong strategic mindset and effective communication skills.
