Job summary
A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (ASTAR IDL) seeks a Principal Scientist (Scientific Lead of A*STAR High Containment BSL-3 Facility) to lead an independent research programme in high-containment infectious diseases while providing scientific leadership to strengthen capabilities and collaborations.
The role focuses on identifying emerging research needs, developing new platforms, securing funding, and guiding a high-performing team to advance pandemic preparedness and translational science.

Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual and technical integration of research programmes leveraging the A*STAR High Containment BSL-3 Facility.
- Establish and lead an independent research programme in infectious diseases.
- Identify and develop new research technologies and platforms.
- Provide scientific leadership in prioritising programmes and projects.
- Drive utilisation of the facility by developing collaborations and attracting projects.
- Develop proposals, secure funding and expand the research portfolio.
