Job summary

Okta is seeking a Principal Recruiter based in Singapore to serve as the first Talent Acquisition partner in the region. You will own full-cycle Go-to-Market hiring across APJ, collaborating with senior leaders and the APJ General Manager.

You will shape talent strategy, build pipelines, and influence decisions while partnering with a global TA team. You’ll work with leadership to translate business priorities into talent strategies and drive critical hires across multiple levels.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an exceptional Principal Recruiter to become our first Talent Acquisition partner based on the ground in Singapore. This is a senior individual contributor role, you will partner closely with our APJ General Manager and senior leadership team, leading critical hiring across the region. Your primary focus will be Go-to-Market, owning searches across all levels, from individual contributors through to senior and executive hiring. As business priorities evolve, you’ll also support critical hiring across other functions and areas of the business.

This role goes beyond running an excellent recruiting process.

You’ll be a trusted talent advisor who understands the APJ market, can influence and challenge senior leaders, brings data and market intelligence to decisions, and remains exceptional at the craft of finding and engaging great talent.

You’ll be our first recruiter in Singapore, but you won’t be building alone. You’ll be part of an established APJ and global Talent Acquisition team, with the opportunity to shape how we recruit and compete for talent across the region. The position reports into the Senior Director, EMEA, APJ GTM based in the UK.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with APJ leadership. Work directly with our APJ General Manager and senior leaders to translate business priorities into talent strategies and hiring outcomes.
• Own critical hiring across APJ. Lead full-cycle searches across all levels, predominantly within Go-to-Market, while flexing into other priority functions and business areas as needs evolve.
• Lead complex and senior searches. Personally own high-impact, senior and executive searches, including talent pipelining, from market mapping and engagement through assessment and close. Your scope of responsibility will include entry level through to senior searches dependent on business needs.
• Build the market, not just the pipeline. Develop deep talent intelligence and networks across Singapore and APJ, identifying and engaging exceptional talent ahead of immediate hiring needs.
• Bring insight and influence. Use market intelligence, data and recruiting expertise to challenge assumptions, shape decisions and help leaders understand where and how we can win for talent.
• Raise the bar. Continually improve how we hire, removing friction, increasing quality and moving with urgency while partnering closely with our APJ and global teams.

What You’ll Bring

• Significant hands-on recruiting experience within a high-growth technology or SaaS environment, with deep knowledge of GTM talent across APJ and the Singapore market.
• Passion for technology and a technical aptitude to be able to clearly articulate the opportunity we have.
• Ability to be present in our SG office 2-3 days per week to collaborate with leadership, meet candidates and enjoy time with colleagues.
• Experience owning full-cycle hiring across multiple levels, alongside a strong track record of personally delivering complex senior and executive searches.
• Experience partnering directly with senior executives, including regional GMs, VPs and functional leaders.
• Exceptional sourcing, talent mapping and market intelligence capability, with the ability to build and engage talent pools proactively.
• The confidence and judgement to influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders, backed by data, market insight and recruiting expertise.
• The versatility to move across functions and talent profiles as business priorities change.
• Experience operating successfully across countries, cultures and time zones in a global organisation.
• A builder mindset with high ownership, curiosity and a bias towards action.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to operate with pace, judgement and discretion.
