Job summary

sggovterp is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead platform development and reliability for OneMotoring’s Digital Shopfront. You will bridge design to deployment, building core platform components and shared services with a focus on scalability and security.

You will own CI/CD pipelines, container infrastructure, and observability, while guiding API design and vendor reviews. Experience in AI integration and zero-trust security is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as a senior or principal engineer with production systems ownership.
• Strong Python development and frontend framework experience.
• Hands-on CI/CD, containerisation and cloud infrastructure skills.
• Experience deploying observability tools for proactive issue resolution.
• Ability to lead API design and integration of legacy systems.
• Security-by-design mindset and zero-trust considerations.

Responsibilities

• Build platform core, internal tooling, and shared services that connect the Digital Shopfront to the wider ecosystem.
• Lead platform reliability with CI/CD, containers, and observability, ensuring fast, secure deployments.
• Review vendor code and architecture, guiding quality and security standards.
• Apply AI across the platform, developing production-ready prompt pipelines and outputs.
• Design for scale and security, managing token flow, caching, and performance.
• Advocate technical investment and communicate the value of foundational work.
