Leads the Academic and Non-Academic functions in the respective geography
Designs and delivers annual Academic priorities and organizational strategies in line with the organisation’s business plan
Aligns the campus’s mission and vision and designs policies, procedures and processes to GSF’s academic direction
Ensures the highest standards in the curriculum and pedagogy for the implementation of the curriculum, and timely interventions for curricular and pedagogical corrections
Financial
Works closely with the Deputy COO and Country Director on the forecasting and budgeting process
Discuss the previous years data to determine trends and makes predictions for the current year in terms of potential enrollments numbers and the various expenses, such as Human Resources, facilities, projects, academic resourcing
Provides inputs to the staffing budget to ensure learning standards will not be compromised
Functional
Identifies and communicates key goals and performance indicators and sets measurable targets to evaluate staff’s performance
Develops, monitors, and reviews strategic plans and processes to best employ expertise, talent and resources for the campus
Reviews succession plans for Coordinators
Academic Operations
Oversees the various curriculums in the campus (e.g. IBPYP, CBSE, GMP etc., where applicable)
Supports the National Head in curriculum planning and vetting
Facilitates inter-campus projects, activities, or sharing sessions with the other GIIS campuses
Works closely with the National Head, Academics and Associate Director, Academic Quality Assurance to understand student achievements, results and feedback in the campus, and to identify areas for improvement
Provides assistance to the teachers in order to improve their teaching capacities and instructional techniques
Evaluates teaching programmes’ relevancy and effectiveness relating to the development of students’ cognitive, physical, aesthetic, social and moral, and leadership capabilities
Responsible for all day-to-day management of the students, staff, adults, resources and building to promote and secure the achievement and well-being of all students and adults
Works with the Management to provide an environment in which all staff and students are enabled to achieve success and to build towards achieving their potential
Ensures that all school policies are regularly reviewed and updated and that staff and Management are involved in this process
Advises and supports staff in policy development and implementation
Ensures that the curriculum and pastoral care of the school is appropriate to the students’ differing experiences, interests, aptitudes and background
Gives priority to developing high quality teaching and learning across the School
Creates a culture and ethos of challenge and support where all students can achieve success, have an appropriate layer of challenge and become engaged in their own learning
Ensures that a system for monitoring and developing the quality of teaching and learning is in place
Demonstrates and articulates high expectations and sets stretched targets for the whole school community
Encourages new developments in the curriculum and capitalizes on new initiatives
Develops and implements effective policies for ensuring that students’ behaviour is appropriate and supportive to their own learning and the learning of others
Implements strategies that maintain high standards of behaviour and attendance
Takes a strategic role in the development of new and emerging technologies to enhance and extend the learning experience of students
Non-Academic Operations
Collaborates with the Admissions Head to increase admission numbers and strengthen the campus’s reputation
Works closely with the Operations Head to ensure smooth operations in the campus, facilities and cleanliness are maintained, emergency evacuation procedures are developed, IT systems are up-to-date
Works closely with Human Resources for training and development and recruitment matters
Works closely with Finance on budgeting and fee collection
Ensures that all statutory requirements for CPE registration are fulfilled
Ensures that all statutory requirements are published on the school website, including the school’s vision, mission, values and culture
Leads and manages the school on a day-to-day basis and is the first point of contact for all stakeholders and external agencies in matters relating to the school
