Role Summary

As a Principal Engineer – Equipment Automation , you will serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in the design, development, and optimization of automation systems for semiconductor equipment. You will drive strategic initiatives, mentor engineering teams, and ensure the seamless integration of automation technologies to enhance operational efficiency and enable data-driven decision-making across the fab.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of advanced automation systems for semiconductor equipment, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to integrate equipment automation with fab-wide systems (e.g., MES, FDC, SPC, APC).
  • Provide technical leadership in the development and maintenance of EA systems, including EAP, RMS, and ECS.
  • Guide the development of data analytics frameworks to extract actionable insights from production data.
  • Collaborate with IT, process, and equipment engineering teams to define system requirements and deliver robust automation solutions.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and industry best practices to future-proof automation capabilities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to talent development within the automation team.
  • Ensure compliance with SECS/GEM standards and lead efforts to enhance equipment communication protocols.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in semiconductor or panel manufacturing environments, with a strong focus on equipment automation.
  • Deep expertise in Oracle SQL and programming languages such as C/C++/C#, Java, HTML5, SQL, VBA.
  • Proven experience with SECS/GEM standards and equipment integration.
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex automation projects and cross-functional teams.
