A leading company in semiconductor manufacturing is seeking a skilled Environmental Health and Safety Manager to oversee environmental compliance, safety initiatives, and hazard assessments. This role requires a strong educational background in engineering or environmental sciences, alongside relevant experience in managing health and safety risks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent analytical and communication skills, aiming to foster a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.
Job Description:
Maintain records of waste and hazardous waste, air emission permitting, and water pollution discharge, as well as environmental, safety and industrial health monitoring of workplace and employee hazard exposures.
Maintain local and international management systems such as SS 651, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 etc..
Assume the role of GHG Manager and be responsible for carbon tax related activities and the ISO 14064 audit.
Evaluate and address the hazards within the facility for safety, health and environmental risks.
Develop health and safety procedures and programs for all departments and monitors safety compliance to reduce risks.
Maintain contingency plans, including fire prevention, and procedures for controlling hazardous spills in accordance with government regulation and insurance company requirements.
Establish regular audit / inspection schedules.
Monitor professional literature and attends seminars to stay current with governmental compliance requirements.
Plan and manage Emergency Preparedness & Response, for ERP Procedure and equipment maintenance, Drill and table top training, ERT training program and Contractor training & Communication program.
Conduct Engineering & Contractor safety management: Daily permit to work/ workplace inspection.
Keep up-to-date EHS license management: System maintenance / Application progress tracking/ Hazardous substance management & P&FM (SCDF), HS (NEA) permit, MHI data application.
Take charge of Gas detector system maintenance: contractor management of budget/ contract/ maintain schedule/ troubleshooting arrangement/ hookup engineering.
Implementation of emergency response related business plans, fire protection plans and participation in drills and training.
Perform safety inspections of the plant area. In case of abnormal situation, immediate response, treatment and notification are required;
Coordinate the maintenance and repair of emergency equipment by vendor(s);
Perform the planning, conduct system audit, building safety inspection and including safety inspections for hazardous operations and high-risk operations;
Carry out the planning and supervise the maintenance of hazardous gas monitoring, ERT emergency equipment and related equipment;
Perform loss prevention audit, improvement tracking and coordinate continuous contingency plan (BCP) update;
Execution of fire evacuation drills and coordinate the quarterly ERT drills;
Execution of influenza epidemic situation, environmental impact assessment of new factory EMS (emergency response system);
Conduct ESH training for both new employees and contractors and evaluation of new materials and safety assessment of new machines and new processes;
Implement new or revised laws and regulations of government agencies for environmental protection, safety and health, radiation protection, etc. relevant to the business operations;
Assist Industrial Safety and Risk Management Section to carry out related work;
Implementation of the EHS related project plan assigned by the management.
Job Requirements:
Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering discipline, environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent.
Min 5 years of relevant working experience in RESM with Green House Gas (GHG) experience.
Experience with audits, inspections and corrective action planning would be a plus.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
Proficient in MS Office and good data analytical skill
Attention to detail and regulatory compliance knowledge ( OSHA, EPA, local standards)
