Job summary

NOVEXX PTE. LTD. seeks a Principal Engineer - Electrical at the Tuas Pharmaceutical Plant to oversee safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all plant electrical systems. The role focuses on maximizing uptime, reliability engineering, and coaching a technical team to maintain cGMP, EHS, and GEP standards.

The ideal candidate will lead HV/LV distribution, champion asset strategies, and drive CAPEX projects while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive HV/LV distribution experience in regulated environments (biopharma/heavy process).
• Experience in project management and reliability engineering.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for electrical systems across LV to 22 kV distribution.
• Lead root cause investigations and FMEA to eliminate single points of failure.
• Define and own asset lifecycle, obsolescence, and spare-parts strategy.
• Manage capacity planning, design validation, and vendor submittals.
• Champion EHS compliance and mentor engineers and technicians.
• Manage external engineering, construction, and operations contractors/vendors.

Principal Engineer - Electrical role

Tuas site-Pharmaceutical Plant

You will operate highly independently to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all plant electrical systems.

The core focus is maximizing equipment uptime, implementing rigorous reliability engineering, and coaching a technical team to maintain strict compliance with cGMP, EHS, and Good Engineering Practice (GEP) standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Operations: Commission, maintain, and optimize electrical infrastructure ranging from Low Voltage (LV) up to 22KV High Voltage (HV) distribution, including emergency generators, Dynamic UPS, and power quality equipment. Act as the technical design authority for electrical scope on CAPEX and engineering change projects.
• Lead complex root cause investigations and failure mode analysis (FMEA) to eliminate single points of failure.
• Asset & Reliability Strategy: Define and own the asset lifecycle, obsolescence plans, and spare-parts strategies.
• Manage capacity planning, design validation, and technical specifications for vendor submittals.
• Safety, Compliance & People Development: Champion environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance across electrical operations. Mentor, coach, and develop electrical engineers and a team of technicians.
• Manage external engineering, construction, and operations contractors/vendors .

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: Extensive experience in high-voltage/low-voltage (HV/LV) distribution systems, project management, and reliability engineering—ideally within a heavily regulated environment (like biopharmaceuticals or heavy process industries).
• Desired Skillsets: Knowledge of automated control interfaces, local regulations (e.g., SS638), and certifications like a Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) registry or ATEX are massive advantages.
