Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Design Director (FOS) in Singapore to lead design management and technical delivery for large-scale industrial developments. You will steer design strategy, governance, and project delivery across civil, structural, architectural, MEP, process, and specialist disciplines.

You will coordinate interfaces between clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders, lead constructability reviews, value engineering, and ensure compliance with regulations, quality

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
• 15–20 years of design, engineering and project delivery experience.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams on major capital projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing capabilities.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM environments; pharma/industrial sectors advantageous.

Overview

The Principal Design Director (FOS) will lead the design management and technical delivery of large-scale industrial developments, ensuring design excellence, coordination across multidisciplinary teams, and successful project execution from concept through commissioning.

Your role

• Lead and oversee the overall design strategy, technical governance, and project delivery.
• Manage multidisciplinary engineering and design teams across civil, structural, architectural, MEP, process, and specialist disciplines.
• Coordinate design interfaces between clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Drive design reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements, statutory regulations, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Support project planning, execution strategies, and risk management activities.
• Provide technical leadership during construction and commissioning phases.
• Mentor and develop engineering and design teams.

About you

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or any related discipline.
• Minimum 15-20 years of experience in design, engineering, and project delivery.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on major capital projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience in EPC/EPCM project environments.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, semiconductor, or data center projects will be a significant advantage.
• Professional registration or chartered status preferred.
