Job summary

Micron Semiconductor Asia Operations is seeking a Staff Engineer to own the Realtime Defect Analysis scope within NAND Technology Development. You will lead defect detection, sampling optimization, and cross-functional issue resolution to accelerate learning and improve yield.

Collaboration with Process Integration, Yield, Data Science, and suppliers is essential to align inspection capability with future NAND nodes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of semiconductor experience, or Master’s/PhD with at least 5 years.
• At least 3 years of hands-on Realtime Defect Analysis in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience in defect inspection, process monitoring, and yield learning.
• Proficiency in Realtime Defect Analysis workflows, defect detection, classification and monitoring.
• Structured root-cause analysis and corrective action methods (8D/DMAIC).
• Strong communication and leadership to influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the site-level RDA strategy and annual roadmap aligned with NAND Technology Development nodes.
• Lead analysis of experimental and production flows to detect, classify, and trend defects.
• Establish, track, and report program health metrics including detection rates and MTTR.
• Lead rapid containment for defect excursions with tool quarantine criteria and 8D actions.
• Develop inspection recipes and sampling strategies balancing sensitivity, throughput and cost.
• Partner with Process Integration, Yield and Data Science to correlate inspection signals with device performance.
• Evaluate next-gen optical/e-beam inspection capabilities and supplier roadmaps.
• Standardize Best Known Methods across global sites; mentor engineers in RDA.
