About our Team

Within the global analytics team, the Singapore analytics team for ICIS. ICIS is the market leader, playing a critical role in analyzing market fundamentals for a diverse clientele comprising major producers, converters, traders, and financial markets.

About the Role

You will be involved in producing and communicating analysis to serve customers in the chemical industry, addressing its dynamics: supply & demand, costs, margins, prices, energy, circularity, etc. You will develop and maintain predictive analytics models that enable customers to make decisions.

This role would suit an experienced analyst who has a proven track record of gaining insights on markets quickly through interactions with industry participants and desk research. We work in a dynamic, project-oriented setting, which allows space for innovation and guarantees a high degree of individual responsibility and project ownership.

As part of your role, you will be developing and running innovative research and analysis approaches and models. Combining data and latest forecasting technology is the basis of our competitive advantage. You will be tasked with leading analytics projects and be in contact with customers and prospects in the Asia market and the adjacent sectors.

You will provide leadership as part of an international and diverse team that requires regional and global travels.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting market discussions with clients to establish a view of market conditions in conjunction with available data.
  • Translating market conditions into a concise view that informs clients and provides pricing clarity.
  • Managing, collecting, and populating data in models on an ongoing basis and integrating any change implications into ongoing forecasts.
  • Generating written text to accompany market analysis and providing understanding of the conditions impacting procurement decisions for clients. Providing fair, unbiased views for clients seeking a knowledge-based, analytical approach to the Vinyl market.
  • Producing content publication, including models, forecasts, charts and written content delivered through a content management system.
  • Generating global supply/demand balances and future forecasts in coordination with global team member experts in the space.

Requirements

  • Have Bachelor's in Business or related field.
  • Have background in Engineering.
  • Have 10 + years of experience in the Petrochemical industry.
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills with clients.
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as a minimum.
  • Have ability to travel up to 25%. Occasional travel for client visits, market discussions and conference appearances may be required from time to time.
