A reputable international school in Singapore is seeking a Learning Support Instructional Assistant. The role involves providing educational support, assisting with documentation for learning support students, and working closely with learning support teachers. Applicants should be organized, collaborative, and maintain confidentiality regarding students' information. The position requires a daily presence in the primary school from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Division: Primary School
Reports To: Head of Student Support & Well-being
Main Working Relationships: Learning Support Teachers, Grade Nursery-6 teachers
Under the guidance of the Head of Student Support & Well-being and in collaboration with Learning Support (LS) Teachers, the LS IA will provide learning and resource support for the LS teacher and students who receive learning support. Ongoing effectiveness in this position will require a considered and guided responsiveness to the developing and changing learning needs of the students and the school as a learning community.
Main Responsibilities:
To improve the quality of learning outcomes for students by providing support for learning and teaching ‘best practice’ within the framework of the CIS Mission, Vision and Core Values.
The LS IA provides:
Educational Support
In collaboration with LS teachers, assist in the collection and completion of the necessary documentation required by EduTrust for learning support students, e.g., referral information, intervention plans, and outcome reviews
Work one-to-one or in small groups with learning support students by:
Assisting with various maths, reading, writing interventions
Help develop student learning plans
Assisting with organization of class / project materials
Helping students to summarize assignment outlines and / or to create simplified checklists to complete projects
Provide in-class support as outlined in the student’s learning plans
Support inclusive assessment arrangements to learning support students including, but not limited to acting as scribe, reader, extra-time supervisor, exam room supervisor, etc.
Assist the LS teacher with administrative duties as required
Assist the LS teacher to evaluate the implementation integrity of Individual Learning Plans.
Attend professional learning and educational meetings as required
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students’ personal information and progress
General Support
Assist in ordering materials for the classrooms, such as pens, pencils, paper and other supplies
Help create displays in classrooms and on bulletin boards
Encourage the traits of the IB Learner Profile and student code of conduct
Maintain open lines of communication with the classroom teachers, teachers, learning support teachers, school administration, support staff and fellow instructional assistants
Work with the primary school teachers and staff to ensure that students have a safe environment to learn at all times.
School Duties - Safety Support
Daily presence in the primary school from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday (except PH and other school holidays). Lunch and break times to be coordinated with LS teachers.
Any other duties as assigned by Principal, Vice Principal and Head of Student Support & Well-being
