Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons and activities that align with early childhood development standards.
  • Teach basic movement skills, coordination, balance, and teamwork in a fun and inclusive manner.
  • Foster a positive, encouraging environment where children feel confident to participate in physical activities.
  • Develop age-appropriate exercises and games that promote motor skills, flexibility, and fitness.
  • Monitor students’ progress and provide individual support where necessary.
  • Create a safe and welcoming environment for all students, ensuring proper supervision during physical activities.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate physical education into the overall curriculum and daily routine.
  • Encourage positive behaviors, teamwork, and good sportsmanship during physical activities.
  • Maintain communication with parents regarding their child’s progress, strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that all PE equipment is safe, clean, and properly maintained.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Physical Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience teaching preschool-aged children is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and how it relates to physical education.
  • Passionate about fostering children’s physical health and fitness.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Work Environment:

  • Monday to Friday 830am to 530pm - Willing to travel between campuses
