JOB DESCRIPTION

The Preschool Educator effectively creates a secure and quality learning environment for children through nurturing trusting and respectful relationships. He/She enriches children’s learning by co-designing and implementing developmentally and culturally appropriate curricula, while integrating innovative teaching practices. He/She proactively strengthens partnerships with families and the community, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve this goal.

As an experienced Early Childhood Educator, He/She guides junior educators to enhance their professional practice, offers suggestions for professional development, and contributes to a culture of collaboration and collegiality within the Centre.

1. Plan and implement curriculum and programmes

• Plan developmentally appropriate activities aligned with curricula frameworks.
• Review learning needs assessments.
• Guide juniors in engaging children meaningfully according to pedagogical frameworks.
• Customize classroom management strategies.
• Design a quality learning environment with appropriate materials and resources.
• Review health, safety, nutritional, and hygiene practices.
• Identify emerging trends and incorporate new teaching methods and assistive technology.
• Evaluate children's learning documentation to inform planning and teaching.

2. Build stakeholder relationships and partnerships

• Implement communication strategies to foster collaboration within the Centre.
• Collaborate with families to ensure continuity of care and learning.

3. Manage family and community programmes

• Develop outreach activities to promote Centre services.
• Coordinate projects with families and community stakeholders.
• Evaluate and improve family and community initiatives.

4. Conduct routine caregiving

• Review caregiving assessments and practices.
• Identify opportunities for caregiving improvements.

5. Uplift professional practice

• Develop new teaching and caregiving methods based on sector trends.
• Identify areas for professional improvement.
• Recommend professional development activities.
• Promote the Centre's vision, mission, and values.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent qualification.
