Job Overview:
The Pre-Sales Specialist will support the sales team by providing technical expertise on sustainability, utility management, and energy optimisation solutions. They will engage with potential clients, demonstrating how the company’s solutions can improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon footprint, and optimise utility costs. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, customer engagement skills, and industry expertise to drive sales and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Technical & Sales Support:
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and present tailored energy management and sustainability solutions.
- Deliver engaging product demonstrations, technical presentations, and workshops to showcase energy optimisation and utility management solutions.
- Responsible for preparing tender submissions, technical proposals, RFPs, and business cases for prospective clients.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine potential savings and sustainability improvements.
2) Customer Engagement & Consultation:
- Act as a trusted adviser by educating clients on energy efficiency best practices, sustainability regulations, and green building certifications (e.g., BCA Green Mark, LEED, BREEAM).
- Analyse energy data, utility consumption, and building performance to identify areas for optimisation.
- Address client queries and concerns, translating technical concepts into business benefits.
3) Industry & Market Analysis:
- Stay updated on sustainability trends, smart building technologies, and regulatory changes related to energy efficiency.
- Conduct competitive analysis to differentiate the company’s solutions in the market.
- Gather client feedback to help improve product offerings and innovation.
4) Collaboration & Training:
- Work with internal teams, including sales, engineering, product development, and marketing, to align solutions with market demand.
- Train sales teams and channel partners on the technical aspects of sustainability and energy management solutions.
- Collaboration with partners, Qualified Persons (QPs), sustainability consultants, energy analysts, and building engineers for solution formulation and packaging.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Energy Management, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Understanding of energy efficiency, HVAC optimisation, IoT for smart buildings, and utility management software.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to present complex solutions to technical and non- technical stakeholders.
- Sales & Business Acumen: Experience in supporting sales teams, preparing proposals, and engaging with enterprise clients.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyse energy data, identify trends, and recommend optimisation strategies.
- Software & Tools: Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems), energy monitoring software, and sustainability reporting tools.
- Industry Knowledge: Awareness of sustainability certifications (BCA Green Mark, LEED, BREEAM, WELL) and energy regulations in Singapore.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, or energy consulting for commercial buildings.
- Certifications relevant to the Singapore context, such as:
- BCA Green Mark Accredited Professional (GMAP)
- Certified Energy Manager (SCEM – Singapore Certified Energy Manager)
- ISO 50001 Energy Management System certification
- LEED AP (Accredited Professional) or BREEAM Assessor for international projects
- WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP) for building health and wellbeing
- Experience with renewable energy integration, smart grid solutions, and carbon footprint reduction strategies.
