Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced, passionate early childhood educator and leader to serve as both English Teacher and ECDA-designated Principal for our new preschool. This dual role is ideal for a professional with strong classroom teaching expertise and a deep understanding of ECDA requirements and early childhood pedagogy.

You will help implement a holistic, inquiry-based curriculum that integrates language learning, emotional development, and joyful exploration.

As the ECDA-recognised leader, you will ensure regulatory compliance while building a collaborative, high-quality learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

As English Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, play-based, and interdisciplinary lessons in English.
  • Foster a warm, safe, and responsive environment that nurtures curiosity and autonomy.
  • Integrate movement, storytelling, music, and inquiry-based science into everyday learning.
  • Monitor and document children’s progress and adapt teaching to meet individual developmental needs.
  • Collaborate closely with co-teachers and families to support holistic child development.

As Principal (ECDA Designate):

  • Ensure the centre meets all ECDA regulatory and licensing requirements.
  • Support the development of curriculum frameworks, SOPs, and compliance documentation.
  • Provide mentorship to teaching staff and support reflective, evidence-based practice.
  • Work with leadership to oversee the school’s operational and pedagogical quality.
  • Liaise with external bodies and act as the point of contact for ECDA-related matters.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5 PM (with a 1-hour lunch break)
  • ECA supervision from 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
  • One day per week: Team meeting or professional training
  • One Saturday per month: Attendance for events or training sessions

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education
  • Completion of the ECDA-recognised L2 qualification & Principalship Training
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a teaching or supervisory role in a preschool setting
  • Strong knowledge of ECDA regulations, licensing procedures, and the Singapore preschool context
  • Excellent spoken and written English; additional Mandarin is a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and curriculum planning skills
  • Passionate about progressive education, multilingualism, and child-led learning
