Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, Reliability Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in PFE systems, build and operate.
  • 5 years of experience managing teams at an operational level in a CLS, data center, technical facility or general engineering/logistics environment.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with Commercial and contract management.

Google is forming a new Submarine cable organization which will build, operate, and sell global infrastructure assets to support GGN growth and open networking objectives. This organization will require dedicated business operations program support to help define, design, and deploy resources towards a cohesive and coordinated plan embedded within the GGNI and wider cloud division. The development will bring significant new resources into Google, stimulate slick, simplistic governance and drive a talent development program to ensure adequate succession planning and career development in this unique and specific part of the business.

Take the lead in the APAC region for all Google Cable Landing Stations Power feed equipment systems and power operations. To be the PFE expert ensuring a quality acceptance procedure from build into operations and go live into the Google central Network Operations Center. Working closely with and managing key suppliers, consortia partners, telcos, customers, internal central operations teams, network teams, finance and regulatory to ensure network availability and reliability, optimum infrastructure performance, solid customer experience and PFE facility operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Manage regional PFE power systems throughout their lifecycle, ensuring technical acceptance, operational excellence, and maximum reliability through the development and implementation of standards, procedures, maintenance strategies, and performance monitoring.
  • Oversee the performance of PFE/subsea systems and subcontractors, leading service restoration efforts in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Partner with location teams on utility engagement and energy strategies, developing energy plans, supporting discussions, designing alternative solutions, and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Provide on-site PFE expertise during critical situations, support regional teams with troubleshooting, and ensure security compliance.
  • Accurately forecast regional power needs, manage on-site POD installations, discuss and manage third-party support agreements, optimize processes, and conduct risk analyses.
