Job summary

LITEON Singapore is seeking Power Electronics Research Interns to join the CIPS Research Team. You will work with senior engineers on innovative research and proof-of-concept projects for data center, cloud, and AI infrastructure technologies.

You will gain hands-on lab experience, receive mentorship, and contribute to real engineering projects while developing problem-solving skills. You will explore power electronics topologies, assist in designing circuits, run simulations, build prototypes,

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a local Singapore university in Electrical/Electronic/Power/Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Basic understanding of power electronic architectures (AC/DC, DC/DC).
• Familiar with schematic design, datasheets, and PCB layouts (academic or project experience).
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice or similar simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and technical studies on power electronics topologies, components, and control concepts.
• Learn and explore technologies related to data centre and cloud power systems.
• Identify technical challenges, future needs, and market opportunities under guidance.
• Support generation and evaluation of design concepts under supervision.
• Create circuit designs and system block diagrams.
• Perform simulations to validate concepts using MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, or Python.
• Assist in building proof-of-concept hardware prototypes.
• Conduct lab testing with oscilloscopes, loads, and power analyzers.
• Assist in debugging and performance evaluation.
• Contribute to technical reports and design documentation.

LITEON Singapore is looking for Power Electronics Research Interns to join our Cloud Infrastructure Platform and Solutions (CIPS) Research Team. You will have the opportunity to work alongside senior engineers on innovative research and proof-of-concept projects related to data center, cloud, and AI infrastructure technologies. You will gain hands on experience in the lab, receive guidance from experienced mentors, and contribute to real engineering projects while building your technical and problem solving skills.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and technical studies on power electronics topologies, components, and control concepts.
• Learn and explore emerging technologies related to data centre and cloud power systems.
• Assist in identifying technical challenges, future needs, and market opportunities.
• Support the generation and evaluation of multiple design concepts under guidance from senior engineers.
• Create circuit designs and system block diagrams.
• Perform simulations using tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, or Python to validate concepts.
• Support the construction of proof-of-concept hardware prototypes.
• Perform lab testing using oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and power analyzers.
• Assist in debugging and performance evaluation.
• Contribute to technical reports, design documentation, and performance summaries.

About you

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree at a local university in Singapore in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Basic understanding of power electronic architectures such as AC/DC and DC/DC converters.
• Exposure to schematic design, datasheets, and PCB layouts (academic or industry projects welcome).
• Familiarity with simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, or similar).
• Interest in wide bandgap devices (SiC / GaN), magnetics, EMI, or thermal design is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Willingness to learn, strong problem solving skills, and good communication abilities.
• Hands on mindset with enthusiasm for laboratory work and experimentation.
