Job summary

Amperesand is seeking a Power Electronics Control Engineer (Level 2) to contribute to design, modeling, and validation of advanced converters for low- and medium-voltage systems. You will work under senior engineers to grow ownership of control subsystems.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, and system architects to translate theory into practical, real-time control implementations and participate in hands-on debugging and validation activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power electronics and control systems.
• 0-2 years of experience designing or supporting digital control for power converters (internship, co-op, or project work).
• Strong understanding of control theory, loop compensation, stability margins, and time-/frequency-domain analysis.
• Exposure to resonant power conversion principles across isolated/non-isolated topologies.
• Experience implementing real-time control on embedded platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and implement digital control algorithms for AC-DC and DC-DC converters across low- and medium-voltage applications.
• Develop models to support stability analysis, loop compensation, and transient optimization.
• Support control strategy development for various power stages and interactions.
• Implement real-time control on DSP/MCU/SoC platforms and validate on hardware.
• Develop SST models in MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, PSS/E, and ETAP.
• Take ownership of defined control tasks with growth toward broader ownership.
