Job Description

We are seeking for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to work on projects in the area of household finance, investment, and financial literacy. The project is part of a large 5-year research program (2024-2028) which has collaborators in Singapore and the United States. The Principal Investigator of this project is located at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

The Fellow will collaborate with the Investigators to conduct independent, in-depth, and publishable research on issues related to household finance, investment, and financial literacy. The Fellow will have access to exclusive primary datasets and be expected to produce two journal articles during their contract. The successful candidate must demonstrate good competence in quantitative research methods and be proficient with statistical software such as STATA or R. Excellent written and spoken English is essential.

Other responsibilities of the full-time Postdoctoral Fellow include:


• Contribute to design of surveys and focus group discussions
• Contribute to book chapters and policy reports
• Prepare presentation materials for meetings, conferences, etc
• Prepare manuscripts for submission, and other administrative work


Requirements:


• A PhD degree in Econometrics, Applied Economics, or Finance, from a reputable university.
• Familiar in working with large datasets for statistical analysis.
• Good track record in publishing in related, peer-reviewed journals.
• Demonstrate good organisational and analytical skills.
• Responsible, detail oriented, and perfection-seeking.
• Must be able to self-motivated, able to work independently, as well as in a team.
• Expertise in topics on economics of aging, pensions, social policy, and financial well-being is a plus.
• The candidate is expected to be physically present in office during the stipulated working hours.
• Able to commit to at least 1 year of service.
