About The Role

Join us as Portfolio Manager, VC & Direct Private Transactions at AIA Investment Management!

We are seeking a Portfolio Manager to participate in sourcing, due diligence, investment decision-making, ongoing monitoring, and management of VC funds and co-investments. The incumbent will support the execution of our venture capital (VC) funds and co-investment strategy, analyze and report on investment performance to stakeholders, including the Investment Committee and internal AIA clients. Under the oversight of the Head of Venture Capital and Direct Private Transactions, the role involves various aspects of portfolio management, delivering precise quantitative analyses and qualitative assessments, and clearly articulating methodologies and results.

Responsibilities

  1. Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities in VC funds and co-investments.
  2. Develop new investment ideas through market research on VC investment trends and emerging themes.
  3. Perform due diligence on prospective VC managers, including fund sourcing, investment team, strategy, and risk assessment. Prepare internal investment memos for stakeholders.
  4. Conduct due diligence on prospective co-investments, focusing on investment structure, key terms, valuation, governance rights, exit terms, and risks.
  5. Support decision-making and trade execution in line with mandates and governance frameworks.
  6. Monitor and oversee the performance of VC funds and co-investments in the portfolio.

Requirements

  1. A good honors degree in investment or finance-related discipline, or relevant professional qualifications.
  2. At least 6 years of proven experience in due diligence, investment execution, and portfolio management of Private Equity / Venture Capital fund investments.
  3. Ability to execute direct and co-investments is a plus.
  4. Excellent analytical skills with a history of conducting in-depth market research.
  5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.
