Job description

In this role, the Portfolio Delivery Director requires current experience in managing multiple IT Development and Support (ASM) teams in an outsourced environment within the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services & Insurance) domain.

The successful candidate should have hands-on experience managing large, outsourced IT development and transformation teams. They should possess the breadth and depth of experience to improve delivery and customer satisfaction through structured delivery governance, technology interventions, people development, and continuous improvement. A good understanding of the drivers and levers that influence successful delivery is essential, along with strong project management knowledge, including exposure to Agile methodologies. The candidate should be capable of leading large technology teams across multiple geographies and driving outcomes.

The primary KPIs for this role are delivery excellence, customer satisfaction index, and P&L responsibility. Managing 200+ FTEs is required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• At least 18 years of experience managing large development and production support teams in an onsite-offshore environment involving 100-200 FTEs, with diverse experience beneficial
• 10 years of experience managing delivery within the BFSI domain
• Domain knowledge in Retail Banking and Corporate Banking
• Strong delivery governance skills and a proactive mindset
• Experience managing multi-ethnic, multi-geo teams
• Understanding of IT outsourcing engagement and commercial models
• Program and project management experience using methodologies like Agile Scrum/Kanban, Waterfall, and Iterative
• Certification in project management practices and Agile ways of working
• Hands-on development or engineering experience in the past
• Experience managing project delivery in cloud and next-generation technologies
• Understanding of ITIL processes and productivity improvement levers for operational efficiency
• Ability to manage fixed-price engagements and understand how to de-risk them
• Good technical acumen with knowledge of next-gen technologies
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of managing senior stakeholders
• Experience participating in RFP/Bid processes, including due diligence

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and clients
