Job description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Port Operations Manager to lead and coordinate day-to-day terminal operations. You will oversee personnel, manage resources efficiently, and drive performance improvements while ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic operational plans to align with organizational goals.

  • Supervise operations staff including foremen, executives, and drivers.

  • Manage daily scheduling, workforce deployment, and shift allocations.

  • Maintain open communication with ground staff to resolve grievances and foster morale.

  • Oversee activities related to prime movers, lashing operations, and reefer handling.

  • Set operational KPIs, monitor performance, and drive process improvements.

  • Prepare operational budgets and manage costs effectively.

  • Mentor team members and lead performance development initiatives.

  • Maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and port stakeholders.

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, regulatory, and company compliance standards.

  • Explore and support new business opportunities.

  • Report operational performance and updates to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years in an operations leadership role, preferably in port or logistics.

  • Excellent communication, people management, and decision-making skills.

  • Proven ability to manage large teams in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

  • Strong knowledge of operational systems, compliance, and workforce planning.

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar efficiency frameworks is an advantage.
