Job summary

SYNERGYCHEM PTE. LTD. seeks a Polymer Technologist to lead and support lab operations for polymer materials, focusing on testing, development, and QA.

You will design tests, manage materials, and help advance R&D efforts while maintaining safety and compliance in the lab. The role requires hands-on polymer science experience, strong lab safety knowledge, and the ability to update data and procedures as new techniques emerge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Applied Sciences or related field.
• 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably with polymers.
• Strong knowledge of lab safety standards, quality management, and polymer testing protocols.
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment and related software.
• Able to work independently or in a team with attention to detail.
• Good communication and willingness to learn new polymer techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute laboratory testing for existing polymers and new formulations.
• Identify and source polymer materials and additives from suppliers for R&D and cost optimisation.
• Manage laboratory inventory, logs, and safe storage of materials.
• Provide technical updates and data on polymer science developments.
• Perform quality assessments on incoming polymers and resolve issues.
• Help develop lab procedures and risk assessments to meet safety standards.
• Conduct physical, thermal, and chemical analyses including DSC, TGA, FTIR, and MFI.
• Operate production-scale equipment for polymer compounding and granulation.
• Support compliance testing and evaluation of marketed polymer products.
• Maintain laboratory safety and Quality, Health, and Safety controls.
