Job summary

GovTech Singapore is seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based platforms underpinning Singapore’s public digital services. You will work on AWS-based infrastructure, IaC automation, container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes, and secure, reliable deployments.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to keep systems performant and secure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Platform/DevOps/Infrastructure Engineering focusing on cloud platforms (AWS).
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, services, and security practices.
• Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting.
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Grafana).
• Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

[What you will be working on]

The Platform Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the robust and scalable infrastructure that underpins the Singapore Tourism Board's digital platforms and services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

• Design, implement, and manage highly available, scalable cloud infrastructure, particularly on GCC AWS, to support a wide range of digital initiatives.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to ensure optimal platform health and reliability.
• Manage and optimize containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for application deployment and orchestration.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery and ensure efficient release cycles.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with application requirements and best practices.
• Develop and enforce security best practices across all infrastructure components, including network security, access control, and data protection.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical platform incidents.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve infrastructure efficiency and capabilities.
• Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures.

[What we are looking for]

• Proven experience (3+ years) in a Platform, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering role, with a strong focus on cloud platforms (AWS).
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture principles, services (compute, storage, networking, databases), and security best practices.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI).Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Cloudwatch, Grafana).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Please note that this will be a 2-year fixed term contract.
