Job summary

GovTech Singapore is recruiting for a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infra underpinning critical digital government services. You will implement IaC, manage CI/CD pipelines, and ensure high availability across cloud platforms.

The role emphasizes automation, security, and collaboration with development teams, with 24/7 on-call rotations and a focus on continuous improvement of infrastructure operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing large-scale cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Solid understanding of containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• Networking, security, and Linux OS knowledge.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced env.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage highly available, scalable cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and maintain IaC for automated provisioning.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, optimize resources.
• Collaborate with dev teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement security best practices including access control and vulnerability management.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 support.
• Document designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance capabilities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of infrastructure operations.

What you will be working on

As a Platform Infrastructure Engineer (AISO) at GovTech, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the robust and scalable infrastructure that underpins critical government digital services, with a focus on ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

• Design, implement, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for automated provisioning and configuration.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize resource utilization and application responsiveness.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth and efficient software deployments.
• Implement and manage security best practices, including access control, vulnerability management, and incident response procedures.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical platform infrastructure.
• Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance platform capabilities and efficiency.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure operations and processes.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, security principles, and operating systems (Linux preferred).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Please note that this will be a 2-year fixed term contract.
