Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant experience.
• Proven experience as a DevOps / Platform / SRE engineer in cloud-native environments.
• Strong understanding of AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), container orchestration, and cloud operations.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform preferred) and cloud integrations (e.g., AWS Load Balancers, Secrets Manager).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems, containers, and underlying infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes tooling: Helm, Kustomize, kubectl, ecosystem APIs.
• Experience managing databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) including backup/restore and recovery testing.
• Good software engineering fundamentals with production-grade code in Go, TypeScript, or Python.
• Understanding of web apps (Go, Python, React/NextJS).
• Familiarity with automated testing for tools and automation you build.
• Experience with GitOps/CI/CD tools (GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD).
• Experience with observability systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and SLO design.
• Strong networking, security, and storage knowledge in AWS and Kubernetes contexts.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and operate platform components across CI/CD Tools (GitLab), Cloud (AWS), Orchestration Tools (Kubernetes EKS), and IaC (Terraform).
• Build reliable, scalable, and secure services powering the Runtime platforms (CStack, Airbase).
• Continuously improve platform performance, cost efficiency, and operational robustness.
• Design and build workflows and tooling to enable rapid, safe deployment of applications.
• Champion automation and self-service capabilities to minimise friction for application teams.
• Identify bottlenecks and automate through CI/CD, IaC, and controllers/operators.
• Implement comprehensive observability and proactive health checks with automated responses.
• Participate in on-call rotations and drive post-incident reviews for platform resilience.
• Embed security into every layer with secure defaults and policy enforcement.
• Define KPIs (MTTR, error rates, SLOs) and drive cost efficiency.
