Job summary

Government Technology Agency (GovTech) in Singapore is seeking a hands-on backend engineer to design, develop and maintain backend applications, REST APIs and microservices using Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js.

You will containerise apps with Docker/Podman, prepare Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts, and deploy, monitor and troubleshoot on Kubernetes, including ingress, DNS and storage. 3–6 years of relevant experience required.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of relevant experience in software engineering and platform engineering.
• Strong Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js/TypeScript development experience.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices and relational databases.
• Proficiency with Docker/Podman, Kubernetes concepts and resources.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications and microservices.
• Containerise applications with Docker/Podman and manage Kubernetes manifests.
• Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot on Kubernetes; handle ingress, DNS, storage.
• Support CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Ansible/AWX) and incident response.
• Maintain deployment procedures and runbooks.
