Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma in chemical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in chemical industry shift work is required.
• Experience in cryogenic air separation unit (ASU) and Steam Methane Reformer unit (SMR) operation is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of personnel and process safety in an industrial plant context.
• Proactive in proposing optimisation plans and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following procedures and complying with regulations.
• Handle day-to-day operational activities according to process specs, quality protocol, and SOPs.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and perform start-up, shutdown and plant turnaround activities.
• Act as ERT member.
• Ensure GasYard is manned with sufficient operations technicians on each shift.
• Lead at assigned areas during plant shutdowns to ensure safe, efficient turnarounds.
• Monitor and analyse unit performance and provide feedback based on KPIs.
• Support operations engineer with process improvements, troubleshooting, data collection, and projects.
• Identify and propose optimal solutions to operating issues or improvements.
• Carry out site and pre-activity inspections to assess safety of contractor work.
