Job description

Job Purpose:

The Accessibility Services at Rainbow Centre aims to improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities through effective therapy and psychological services so that they can achieve their highest level of independence and lead thriving lives.

The Physiotherapist, working as part of an interdisciplinary team, will be responsible for the delivery of quality physiotherapy services and may work across a variety of settings at Rainbow Centre (early intervention, schools, out-of-school hours care and community outreach services etc).

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Services

  • Assessment: Obtain data using appropriate assessment tools to identify therapy needs in a variety of cases.

  • Goal Setting: Identify and prioritize goals for intervention in collaboration with the client/family/caregiver and multidisciplinary team.

  • Care Planning: Formulate care plans that are outcome based and relevant to clients’ goals through planning, implementing, evaluating and managing interventions.

  • Intervention: Facilitate individual and group interventions employing evidence-based occupational therapy techniques.

  • Documentation: Complete specialist reports, case notes and other documentation, following professional guidelines and guidelines required by the organization.

  • Caseload Management: Prioritise and manage a caseload under supervision in accordance to organisation policy.

Service Administration & Management

  • Data Management: Maintain and monitor client records related to service utilization in accordance to organisational and professional requirements.

  • Resource Management: Maintain inventories of equipment, materials and supplies.

  • Health & Safety: Ensure that the health and safety policy is adhered to and all equipment are properly and safely stored and maintained for safe use.

Continuing Professional Development

  • Engage in and articulate reflection and evaluation in practice, including critically evaluating the impact of contemporary issues related to the profession and sector.

  • Remain up to date and compliant with all relevant legislation, organizational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct in order to uphold standards of best practice.


Job holder Requirements

  • Diploma, Degree or Masters in Physiotherapy

  • Registered as Physiotherapist under the Allied Health Professions Act

  • Working experience in a special education setting is preferred.

  • Candidates must be open to traveling to all locations that Rainbow Centre has a presence.
