Job summary

Yishun Community Hospital Pte. Ltd. is seeking a locum Physiotherapist to assess and treat patients across orthopedics, sports, neurology, cardiopulmonary, geriatrics and musculoskeletal conditions.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to restore mobility and independence, with a focus on evidence-based practice and professional development. Applicants should hold a recognized Physiotherapy degree, AHPC registration, and at least 3 years of relevant clinical experience, plus basic IT

Qualifications

• Recognized Degree in Physiotherapy.
• Graduate with 3 years of working experience in the relevant clinical disciplines.
• Registered with Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC).
• Member of the Singapore Physiotherapy Association or equivalent (highly recommended).
• Basic IT skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Clinical duties include managing Orthopedics, Sports, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Cardiopulmonary, Geriatrics and Musculoskeletal conditions.
• Independently assess, diagnose and manage patients within defined scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical reports for continuity of care.
• Adhere to medicolegal governance guidelines and basic tenets of JCI.
• Provide supervisory/training to staff as allocated by supervisor/manager.

Education

Degree in Physiotherapy

AHPC registration

Job description

The Physiotherapist helps patient restore mobility, function and independence through detailed assessment of problems and individualized treatment. Physiotherapists manage a wide range of conditions, with expertise in mobilization techniques and manual therapy, exercise prescription, electrotherapy, balance and gait training and education on health promoting strategies. The Physiotherapist works within the context of a multidisciplinary team.

A Physiotherapist demonstrates a high standard of clinical practice and professional conduct in all areas of patient care, and proactively participate in continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.

(A) MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. CLINICAL DUTIES

Depending on the coverage areas, locum physiotherapist should be competent in managing the following conditions:

• Orthopedics
• Sports
• Neurology/Neurosurgery
• Cardiopulmonary
• Geriatrics
• Musculoskeletal

He/she should be independent in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patient within defined scope of practice. He/she should have an understanding of the limits of their expertise and seek guidance proactively when appropriate.

2. Administrative duties

The locum physiotherapist must have skills and competency in self management, and compliance to medicolegal and governance guidelines

• Be responsible for the caseload allocated and provide coverage as necessary
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical reports in continuity of care
• Be familiar with and adhere to basic tenets of JCI
• Maintain statistics on workload as needed by the Department and Hospital

OTHER DUTIES

1. Supervisory Role

• Provide supervisory/training to staff as allocated by supervisor / manager
• Provide mentoring / leadership guide to staff as allocated by supervisor / manager

Education, Training and Experience

• Recognized Degree in Physiotherapy
• Graduate with 3 years of working experience in the relevant clinical disciplines
• Have basic IT skills and competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

2. Professional License

• Registered with Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC)
• Member of the Singapore Physiotherapy Association or equivalent (highly recommended)
