Job summary

Our client, an established energy & commodities firm, seeks a driven Physical Oil Trader to join the team in Singapore. This role focuses on trading physical crude and refined products across APAC and international markets, building key relationships with producers, refiners, and end-users.

Applicants should have prior physical oil trading experience, solid understanding of pricing mechanisms, and the ability to manage risk within approved limits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Trade physical crude and refined products across regional and international markets.
• Identify profitable opportunities via market analysis, supply-demand and arbitrage.
• Build relationships with producers, refiners, oil majors and end-users.
• Negotiate pricing, volumes, delivery terms and contractual conditions.
• Manage full trade lifecycle from origination to delivery and settlement.
• Coordinate with operations, shipping, risk, credit and finance teams.
• Monitor flows, inventories, freight economics and refinery margins.
• Manage trading positions within approved risk limits.
• Develop new counterparties and markets across APAC and beyond.
• Ensure activities comply with risk policies and regulations.

Our client, an established firm within the energy & commodities sector, has an opportunity for a driven individual to join the Team as an Physical Oil Trader.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Trade physical crude oil and/or refined petroleum products across regional and international markets
• Identify profitable trading opportunities through market analysis, supply-demand fundamentals, pricing structures and arbitrage opportunities
• Develop and maintain relationships with producers, refiners, oil majors, trading houses and end-users
• Negotiate commercial terms including pricing, volumes, delivery terms and contractual conditions
• Manage the full trade lifecycle from deal origination and execution through to delivery and settlement
• Coordinate closely with operations, shipping, chartering, risk, credit and finance teams
• Monitor physical flows, inventories, freight economics, refinery margins and regional market developments
• Manage trading positions and exposure within approved risk limits
• Develop new counterparties, markets and trading opportunities across APAC and international markets
• Ensure all trading activities comply with internal risk policies, contractual requirements and applicable regulations

REQUIREMENTS

• Prior experience in physical oil, crude oil, refined products or energy trading
• Strong understanding of physical commodity flows, pricing mechanisms and trading economics
• Established relationships with relevant suppliers, buyers and trading counterparties would be advantageous
